Why Families in Woodstock Choose Us
Say Hello to Our Board-Certified Pediatric Dentists Near Woodstock
Dr. Miles Mazzawi, DMD
Born and raised on the east side of Atlanta, Dr. Miles comes from a large family of dentists. His parents and four siblings have a beautiful thriving dental office in Snellville, Georgia! For the past two decades, he’s carried on the tradition by practicing as a board-certified pediatric dentist.
Since Dr. Miles was raised by two dentists, he got firsthand experience into the world of dentistry from a very young age. Not only did he watch his parents build meaningful relationships with their patients, but he also witnessed just how much they were able to help people. Whether it’s relieving someone’s pain or boosting their confidence, Dr. Miles knew he wanted to follow in their footsteps.
His journey to becoming the amazing dentist he is today began at the University of Georgia, where he graduated in 1997. Dr. Miles went on to obtain his dental degree at the Medical College of Georgia in 2001. Afterward, he practiced general dentistry at his family’s dental office for two years, during which he discovered his passion for working with children.
Eventually, Dr. Miles returned to school to complete his pediatric dental residency at the Health Science Center of San Antonio, TX in 2005. Today, he enjoys taking care of children and working alongside his wife, Dr. Drew. You can learn about her story below!
Dr. Anthea Drew Mazzawi, DMD
Dr. Drew has been at Cherokee Children’s Dentistry since the beginning. She loves interacting with children of all ages, helping them achieve and maintain their very best smiles!
One of the biggest reasons why Dr. Drew chose to become a dentist was because she liked the idea of creating warm relationships that would hopefully last years. Not only that, but she’s a creative person that enjoys working with her hands. For that reason alone, she knew dentistry was the perfect field for her.
Dr. Drew went straight into a pediatric dental residency program at the Medical University of South Carolina after completing a dental program at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. Right before joining our practice, she became a board-certified pediatric dentist in 2006!
Now, Dr. Drew is heavily involved with organized dentistry. She served as the president of The College Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2018. In addition, she has been a part of several committees and councils for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
When she’s not busy making people smile, Dr. Drew enjoys going to college sporting events, running marathons, and entertaining friends and family at home. To learn more about her accomplishments and hobbies, click here!
Kind Words from Parents In Your Area
I can't say enough about Dr Miles and Dr Drew. We have been going there for many years now and in fact we drive 30-45 minutes to get there depending on the traffic. We first came to this practice to get second opinions after our other pediatric dentist wanted to do extensive work on both my children. We were told that 95% of what we were told was not needed. It was that honesty that made us patients for the long term. Most recently we had a weekend urgent problem and Dr Miles and Dr Drew were both so caring and helpful to us even on a Sat and Sun. We love them!!!!! I keep begging them to take me a patient but no go yet. ;)

What is the best way to find a pediatric dentist?
To start, you can perform a Google search for pediatric dentists near Woodstock. This should provide several results from which you can narrow down. When determining which one you will choose, it is recommended that you review their website. You can often read through the dentist’s bio to determine if they are the type of pediatric dentist you are looking for.
Many will include their board certification, professional affiliations, and educational/professional background and training. Reviewing this type of information will give you better insight into the kind of dentists you may be looking for.
At Cherokee Children’s Dentistry, we are pleased to have board-certified pediatric dentists who have been named top dentists by Atlanta Magazine. How do I find the best place for my child to receive dental care?
The answer to this question often lies in the type of criteria you’re looking for in a pediatric dental office near Woodstock. Do you want a dentist who is near your home or office? Do you want someone who specializes in a particular area of dentistry (i.e., special needs dentistry)? Are you looking for a professional who is in-network with your dental insurance?
By researching different offices and narrowing them down based on the answers to these questions, you’ll find the right team to take care of your child’s smile. At Cherokee Children’s Dentistry, you can expect a pair of dentists who genuinely care and are passionate about young smiles. Providing comprehensive services in a fun and exciting environment, your little one will feel right at home while you prepare for a positive and reassuring experience.
What should I do if my child needs emergency dental care?

The good news is that our team at Cherokee Children’s Dentistry wants the same for your little one. This is why you can call us for help. If faced with a dental emergency, you should plan to call our office right away. We’ll work to get your little one in on the same day so that we can quickly eliminate the pain and improve the state of their smile.
Our team of professionals will offer helpful first-aid tips to manage the pain while waiting at home, but you can rely on us to give your child the attention they deserve when they need it.
What do you do if you can’t afford a dentist?
Children deserve high-quality dentistry just as much as adults do. Unfortunately, many parents feel as if necessary dental care is out of reach financially. When choosing a dentist for your little one, it’s important that if you have dental insurance, you use it. Many dentists are in-network with various companies and will be happy to maximize your benefits. At Cherokee Children’s Dentistry, our pediatric dentist near Woodstock welcomes your dental insurance plan and will go the extra mile to reduce your out-of-pocket expenses as much as possible.
If private dental insurance is something you and your family cannot afford, though, there are other options. When seeing a member of our team for treatment, you’ll be pleased to learn that we also partner with CareCredit financing. This third-party company offers low-to-no-interest payment plans and no surprise fees to make it easier for patients to pay off their treatment over time instead of all upfront.
